About Fellowship
Worship begins at 10:45 AM and we often have coffee and snacks available. So come 15-30 minutes early to join in fellowship. We’ve found that morning fellowship is a great way to get to know each other and share in community.
"Generously share the invitation, ministries, and sacraments through which people can encounter the Living Christ who heals and reconciles through redemptive relationships in sacred community. The restoring of persons to healthy or righteous relationships with God, others, themselves, and the earth is at the heart of the purpose of your journey as a people of faith."
— Doctrine & Covenants 163:2b
About Worship Services
Around 10:45 AM, we begin our opening song and gathering music. Our worship services are traditional, with some contemporary flare. You can expect some singing, a morning message, an offering, and some more singing.
The morning Message varies based on the theme and may or may not follow the Community of Christ’s provided worship resources that follows the liturgical calendar. Often times, a member of the congregation may be the one delivering the message.

The Worship Typical Service
A typical service usually has some of the following components:
Welcome/Announcements/Caring and Sharing – During this time we ask for prayer concerns and share upcoming events.
Opening hymn – Often, the congregation is asked to stand for the opening hymn and reading, the “Call to Worship.”
Opening Prayer – We’ll often follow this up with a prayer over the concerns and an invitation for open and receptive hearts as we focus on worship.
Focus Moment – This is an interactive part of the service, generally directed towards children, about the theme being discussed that day.
Scripture Reading – Most weeks there is some kind of scriptural reading. Sometimes these readings are modified slightly to be responsive readings (sometimes known as call and response) involving the leader and the congregation reciting aloud different parts of the reading.
Morning Message (Sermon) – The message usually lasts between 15-20 minutes and is given by participants of the congregation. The sermons are generally based upon a scripture passage from the Revised Common Lectionary.
Disciples Generous Response – Usually towards the end of the service, there is a moment that focuses on collecting of tithes/offerings. We use this time to reflect on God’s generous gifts to us and how we can respond to this wonderful generosity. Participants are welcome to contribute if they feel so inclined, but it is completely voluntary.
Closing Hymn/Sending Forth – Like the opening hymn, generally the congregation stands for the closing hymn. After the hymn, the congregation remains standing as a closing prayer is offered or a special sending forth passage is read.
Reflection Music – We pause for a moment after the service to listen and reflect on the service before heading downstairs for snack or potluck.
After Worship
After every service we gather downstairs in the Fellowship Hall to eat and chat! We invite you to join us. For us, this time to gather is just as important as worshiping together.
What Should I Wear?
Our congregation is pretty relaxed when it comes to dress. You’ll see people in everything from casual clothes to something a little more dressed up. Suits and ties are rare, and shorts aren’t unusual, sometimes even on the speaker! The most important thing is that you feel comfortable. Come as you are; you’ll fit right in.
Can I Take Communion?
Typically we serve communion the first Sunday of the month. We practice open communion. We invite all who choose to participate to do so in the love and peace of Jesus Christ. Community of Christ welcomes all to the table regardless of religion, creed, membership, or expression.
